Help Translate EveLens — Korean & Chinese
EveLens speaks English, Simplified Chinese, and Korean. Help the EVE communities of Korea and China make it read naturally — no coding needed.
For the EVE communities of Korea and China. EveLens speaks your language — help us make it speak it well.
EveLens is a free, open-source character planner and skill queue manager for EVE Online — a modern EVEMon alternative — and it runs in English, 简体中文 (Simplified Chinese), and 한국어 (Korean).
The Korean translation exists because one player volunteered an afternoon. The Chinese translation has shipped since version 1.3.0. Both are usable today. But "usable" isn't "natural," and I want EveLens to read the way Korean and Chinese capsuleers actually talk — not the way a literal translation reads.
So I'm asking for help. No coding, no tools, no commitment.
01What needs translating (and what doesn't)
EVE has two kinds of text inside a tool like this:
- The 50,000+ EVE names — every ship, skill, item, and market group. These come straight from CCP's official Static Data Export, so they are already correct in your language. Nobody needs to touch them.
- The ~660 UI strings — the menus, buttons, labels, and tooltips that are EveLens's own. This is the human part. A recent rebuild of how EveLens stores translations exposed a few hundred strings that still fall back to English, and those are where fresh eyes help most.
How to help
Each string is a single line you can improve:
KEY: PlanEditor.Cost
EN: Cost
NEW: write your language here, or leave it blank if English is fineYou suggest better wording for anything awkward. That's it. Universal EVE terms (SP, ISK, Omega, Amarr) you just leave alone. Anyone who contributes is credited by name or handle in the app's About page and the release notes — it becomes your contribution to the tool.
There's a dedicated discussion for each language:
- 한국어 (Korean): the original translation thread on GitHub
- 简体中文 (Chinese): Help translate EveLens into Simplified Chinese
Try it first
Download the latest build at evelens.dev, then go to Settings → Appearance → Language and pick 한국어 or 简体中文. The app restarts and comes back in your language. If something reads wrong, that's exactly what I want to hear about.
Thank you for helping EveLens fly in your language. 정말 감사합니다. 谢谢大家. o7
